Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has been honoured with the Governor of the Year in Infrastructure Development award at the 15th African Achievers Awards held at the prestigious House of Lords, Westminster Palace, London.
The award, presented by the Deputy Mayor of London, Mr. Mete Coban, celebrates Governor Yusuf’s strides in large-scale road construction, urban renewal initiatives, and rehabilitation of public infrastructure across Kano State.
In a statement signed by the Director-General of Media and Publicity at the Government House, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor was represented at the event by Usman Bala, mni, Special Adviser on State Affairs, and Dawakin Tofa himself.
“This recognition underscores Governor Yusuf’s dedication to prioritising infrastructure that touches the lives of millions across Kano,” Bala said while receiving the award on behalf of the Governor.
The African Achievers Awards honour African leaders and institutions making measurable impact in leadership, development, and social innovation.
Other honourees included the Governor of Benue State and the King of Zolu Nation, South Africa.
Governor Yusuf’s award further reinforces Kano’s emergence as a beacon of infrastructure-driven governance in Nigeria.
