The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has paid a working visit to his counterpart in Plateau State, Deputy Governor Mrs. Josephine Piyo, as part of ongoing efforts to foster unity and collaboration between the two states.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Governor’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, and made available to journalists in Kano on Tuesday, Comrade Gwarzo emphasized the deep-rooted historical and cultural bonds that have long connected Kano and Plateau States.
He also reflected on his personal attachment to Plateau, recalling that he had served in the state as a corps member during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 37 years ago.
“Plateau holds a special place in my heart because of my NYSC experience here. People always look forward to visiting this state to enjoy its warmth and hospitality,” he said.
In her response, Deputy Governor Piyo warmly welcomed the Kano delegation, describing the visit as a symbol of inter-state unity and friendship. She further commended Plateau’s reputation as one of the most serene and hospitable states in Nigeria, while extending heartfelt greetings to the government and people of Kano State.
The meeting was described as a reflection of the growing commitment by both states to strengthen socio-cultural and political cooperation for the collective benefit of their people.
