The Kano State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations has fixed a date for its Annual General Meeting and election of new executive council members following the expiration of the tenure of the current leadership.
The decision was reached at the end of a State Executive Council meeting of the chapter held on Sunday.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Chairman of the NIPR Kano Chapter, Aliyu Yusuf, and made available to journalists on December 21, 2025.
According to the statement, a five-man Electoral Committee has been constituted to organise and conduct the election during the AGM. Malam Aminu Hamza was named chairman of the committee, with Musbahu Aminu Yakasai as secretary, while Malam Aminu Inuwa, Prof. Mainasara Yakubu Kurfi and Uba Abdullahi will serve as members.
In addition, the chapter also set up a 15-man Local Organising Committee to oversee the general conduct of the AGM. The committee will be chaired by Aliyu Yusuf, with Usman Gwadabe serving as secretary.
The statement added that the committees were inaugurated to ensure a transparent, credible and well-organised electoral process in line with the institute’s constitution and professional standards.
The leadership of the chapter urged members to actively participate in the AGM and election, stressing that the exercise would provide an opportunity to strengthen professionalism and reposition the institute in Kano State.
The NIPR Kano Chapter reaffirmed its commitment to upholding ethical standards, capacity building and the promotion of best practices in public relations across the state.
