The Kano State Government, led by Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, is working with stakeholders to improve power supply.
The State Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Dr. Gaddafi Sani Shehu, disclosed this while briefing on the government’s plans to enhance power and energy access.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy, Kano State, Saad Umar Faruk.
He said Dr. Gaddafi Sani announced the launch of the state’s electricity policy and the strengthening of the newly established State Electricity Market, aimed at advancing sustainable energy access and fostering community development.
He invited solar mini-grid developers to submit proposals for innovative projects, assuring the public of the government’s commitment to sustainable energy and socio-economic growth.
The commissioner also revealed plans for Kano State to generate its own electricity, pushing for self-sufficiency in power generation.
The initiatives demonstrate the government’s dedication to addressing power challenges and driving growth.
Dr. Shehu emphasized that the administration is working tirelessly to ensure reliable and sustainable energy access for the people of Kano State.
