Dutsinma Local Government chapter of APC Grassroots Democratic Reform, has kicked against imposition of candidates seeking elective political offices ahead of the party’s primaries.
The association made the position known at a meeting it held with its members as contained in a statement from Sarkin Labaran Maradin Katsina, Alhaji Abdu Bawa Dutsinma which he made available to The Triumph in Kano recently.
The statement said the theme of the event was ‘APC Dutsinma: We are aware,’ and it was held at Yarima Primary School, Dutsinma.
Speaking during the event, the chairman of the association, Alhaji Sani Habibu DK, Barayan Dutsinma, restated that all those seeking elective offices either as members of the State House of Assembly or House of Representatives, must pass the laid down criteria of people’s acceptance and credibility pass.
According to him, Dutsinma Grassroot Democratic Reform had perfected arrangements to consult with Dutsinma political stakeholders to ensure voice of the people were heard in the nomination of political office holders.
This, according to him, is critical to the success of APC candidates at the polls.
Earlier, an elder in the area, Comrade Sabi’u Ibrahim, stressed that the party’s victory in the state was based on fairness, equity and justice, which were the criteria that produced Governor Dikko Umaru Radda as the governor of the state.
He saluted Dutsinma Grassroot Democratic Reform for always standing by what was right, more especially in seeing that due process was always followed in the political process.
Also speaking, the Senior Legislative Aide to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Abdu Bawa Dutsinma, also expressed that, justice by allowing people choice to be nominated on elective political positions, was the only option that would save the party during elections.
He commended Governor Radda for standing by what was justice by cancelling automatic tickets to Senators and House of Representatives membership.
Speaking at the occasion, Malam Kabir Sama’ila noted that, the last meeting of the sssociation with the theme – ‘Dutsinma APC Agyara’ had recorded positive impact across the area.
Other speakers included, the association’s treasurer, Malam Mani Shehu, who delivered a welcome address; Ahmed Tijjani, who represented Alhaji Nasiru Mamman Nagarhi; representative of the state APC office and Dutsinma vigilante group commander among others.
