A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, Chief David Sabo Kente (DSK), has said he will not turn down the endorsement by his supporters for the 2027 governorship election.
Kente made this known while addressing his supporters, assuring them that although the time to declare his ambition is not yet, when the time comes, no one will take the opportunity away from him, given the strong support base he enjoys.
The APC chieftain revealed that his supporters had volunteered to procure the party’s nomination form for him, expressing their dissatisfaction with the Governor Kefas-led administration in the state.
Kente, a one-time governorship aspirant in the state, stated that he would continue consultations with stakeholders before taking a final decision, in the overall interest of the party.
He also disclosed that he and his supporters have concluded plans to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, in order to attract more development to Taraba State.
“My consultations are still ongoing regarding whether to contest the 2027 Taraba State governorship election.
“I have asked my supporters and APC loyalists who endorsed me and purchased the nomination form on my behalf to exercise patience until all necessary arrangements are properly concluded.
“However, I want to assure the people of Taraba that the state belongs to all of us.
“We are committed to ensuring an inclusive government that will deliver the dividends of democracy to the grassroots. No one will be left out,” he stated.
