An aspirant for the Katsina Central Senatorial Seat under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Muhtaka Rabe Darma, has concluded a tour of eleven local government areas, expressing confidence in securing the party’s ticket.
Darma, who met with party leaders and elders across the areas, described the tour as successful and encouraging.
Speaking to newsmen, the aspirant said party officials and elders warmly received him during the visits and threw their weight behind his ambition.
“I was encouraged by the support and kind words from the leaders. They embraced me and declared their support for my ambition,” he said.
He added that the tour provided him with an opportunity to present his blueprint, which was thoroughly discussed and applauded by party elders.
Darma thanked the elders for their support and warm reception.
Meanwhile, a former Managing Director of the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company, Abbas Umar Masanawa, has also declared his intention to contest for the Katsina Central Senatorial Seat under the platform of the APC.
Masanawa, who contested in 2025 but lost during the party primaries, made his declaration while visiting an APC local government office.
He told party officials that he possesses the experience and qualifications needed to contest and be elected as a senator.
He noted that during his tenure as Managing Director of the Minting and Printing Company, he secured employment opportunities for indigenes of the state.
He added that he left an indelible mark in all the places he worked and pledged to protect the interests of the state if elected to the Senate.
