A former governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, Hon. Morris Vunobolki, has officially returned to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), leading about 3,000 of his supporters back to the party.
Vunobolki announced his defection on Thursday while briefing journalists at his campaign office in Bekaji, Yola.
He attributed his return to what he described as the PDP’s open and inclusive political structure, which, according to him, promotes internal democracy and encourages constructive criticism and engagement.
According to him, the party provides a platform where individuals can freely express their views and pursue their political aspirations without undue restrictions.
“I, together with about 3,000 of my supporters across the state, have completed our e-registration into the PDP as of April 19, 2026,” he said.
Vunobolki noted that his decision followed extensive consultations with his supporters, political associates, and key stakeholders at both the state and national levels.
He said the consultations reaffirmed their shared commitment to equity, inclusiveness, and a political platform that allows members to freely pursue their ambitions.
“Following these engagements, we have collectively resolved to return to the PDP,” he added.
The politician had earlier resigned from the APC on April 14, citing alleged lack of fairness and manipulation of the voter registration process within the party.
He, however, reaffirmed his commitment to contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of Adamawa State through transparent leadership, inclusive governance, and policies that expand opportunities for youths, women, and grassroots communities.
