E-World Football Club of Calabar has emerged victorious in the 2026 State President Federation’s Cup tournament.
The Calabar-based side defeated Mojoda F.C. 2–1 in a thrilling final played at the main bowl of the U.J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar.
Ubong John opened the scoring for E-World F.C. in the 11th minute of the first half, while Mojoda F.C. equalised through Isaiah Alfred in the 24th minute.
Patrick Kayang later sealed victory for E-World F.C. with a spot kick in the 64th minute of the keenly contested encounter.
Speaking after the match, the Special Guest of Honour, Honourable Chief Emmanuel Ironbar, expressed delight over the impressive performance displayed by both teams.
Representing the Chief of Staff, his Special Adviser on Youth Orientation, Chief Bartholomew Ogbeche, stated that the main objective of the tournament is to develop grassroots football.
He expressed confidence that both teams would perform well in the forthcoming National President Federation’s Cup.
He also commended the State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, for restoring the lost glory of sports in the state.
The Chief Coach of E-World F.C., Olatunbosun Ahmed, attributed the team’s success to hard work, motivation, and strong team spirit.
He assured that the club would excel at the national level.
Highlights of the event included the presentation of the 2026 President Federation’s Cup trophy to E-World F.C. players and officials, while medals were presented to players and officials of the runners-up, Mojoda F.C.
Medals were also presented to match officials. Both finalists will represent the state in the national preliminaries of the competition, scheduled to commence next month.
