From Umar Danladi Ado, Sokoto
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, Alhaji Bello Littafe Gande, has described the party as “God-sent,” insisting that it remains committed to taking Nigeria to greater heights.
Speaking to journalists in Sokoto, Gande said the APC is the party to beat in the forthcoming 2027 general elections and beyond, stressing that no other political platform in the country currently matches its strength and performance.
He called on all patriotic and law-abiding Nigerians to rally support for the APC, noting that a vote for the party is a vote for the consolidation of developmental strides recorded under Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The APC stalwart further urged citizens to join forces with the party to accelerate infrastructural development across Sokoto State and the country at large.
Gande expressed satisfaction with the performance of Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, noting that under the guidance and mentorship of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, the administration has recorded significant achievements across various sectors, in line with its 9-Point Smart Agenda.
He highlighted key accomplishments of the state government, including the implementation of the N70,000 new national minimum wage, prompt payment of salaries, and execution of both completed and ongoing projects in road construction, water supply, healthcare, and other critical sectors.
The APC chieftain also commended the governor for prioritising religious development, particularly through the renovation and construction of mosques and Islamiya schools across the state.
He noted that Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto has continued to follow in the footsteps of former Governor and APC leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, whom he described as a model of diligence and philanthropic public service over the decades.
On national development, Gande praised the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing major infrastructure projects such as the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway, which he said would enhance socio-economic growth across the country.
On security challenges, he urged Nigerians to seek divine intervention through sincere repentance and prayers.
“If we all turn to Almighty Allah and seek His forgiveness, we will witness divine intervention that will restore lasting peace and security in Nigeria,” he said.
