The immediate past North-East Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Salihu Mustapha, has submitted his governorship nomination form and stormed Yola, the Adamawa State capital, to respond to what he described as a clarion call by the people to serve.
Mustapha made this known while addressing party stalwarts, supporters, women and youth groups who urged him to contest in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the APC campaign office in Yola, the governorship aspirant said he decided to join the race in response to widespread calls from the people of the state.
“I, Comrade Salihu Mustapha, have come today to thank the people of Adamawa State for asking me to come and serve as governor in the 2027 general election,” he said.
He assured supporters that he would not disappoint them if given the mandate, pledging to build on existing developmental strides in the state.
“I want to assure you that I will not disappoint you. The development strides enjoyed in Adamawa State will be sustained and improved upon with more dividends of democracy,” Mustapha added.
He also promised to govern with the fear of God and remain committed to the welfare of the people.
Mustapha urged party members to remain united and committed to the success of the APC at both state and national levels, while soliciting support for his governorship ambition.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Bathiya Wesley, said the legacy of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri requires a capable successor, describing Mustapha as a suitable candidate.
Dignitaries at the event included Senator Binta Masi Garba, former member of the House of Representatives, Captain Yusuf Buba, members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, and other party chieftains.
The submission of the nomination form marks a significant step in Mustapha’s political journey as he seeks the mandate to lead Adamawa State in 2027.
