The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State has conducted its primary elections and affirmations for the emergence of party candidates for the House of Representatives seats across fifteen federal constituencies.
The party held direct primaries in three federal constituencies, while candidates nominated through consensus in twelve constituencies were affirmed by party members.
Our correspondent reports that the primary elections were conducted for Mani/Bindawa, Funtua/Dandume, and Daura/Sandamu/Mai’Adua federal constituencies.
Speaking after monitoring the exercise, Governor Dikko Umar Radda commended party members for their maturity, cooperation, and peaceful conduct throughout the process.
Radda, who monitored the exercise in Rimi, Musawa, Malumfashi, among other constituencies, called on the people of the state to elect APC candidates in the 2027 elections for continuity and national progress.
In his remarks, the APC Consensus Committee member from the party’s National Headquarters, Dr. Yakubu Machido Ahmed, expressed satisfaction with the transparent and orderly conduct of the exercise.
Earlier, Jamilu Abdu Mani, who emerged as the APC candidate for Mani/Bindawa constituency, pledged to work with stakeholders and party members to ensure the party’s victory.
Mani, is the only candidate in the state, scored 24,989 votes, defeating Ahmed Saleh Jino, who polled 1,022 votes.
