As Nigeria joins millions of Muslims across the world in celebrating this year’s Eid el-Kabir, the National President of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, has congratulated the Muslim faithful on the occasion.
In a goodwill message he personally signed, Gawuna, who is the immediate past Deputy Governor of Kano State, urged Muslims to see the celebration as a period of sober reflection and to remember the poor and vulnerable in society.
He also advised Muslims to continue living peacefully with their neighbours and to use the occasion to pray for peace, security, and the prosperity of Nigeria.
“I want to use this opportunity to congratulate all Muslim faithful for witnessing another Eid season.
As you celebrate this season of sacrifice, remember to extend your benevolence to the poor and vulnerable among you, and also use the day as a moment of reflection and prayer for the peace and security of our country,” the statement concluded.
