The 2026/2027 English Premier League season is set to officially begin with the traditional Community Shield clash between Arsenal and Manchester City at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday, August 16, 2026.
The curtain-raiser will see the Premier League champions face the FA Cup winners, marking the official start of the new English football season.
According to the Premier League calendar, the full fixtures for the 2026/27 season will be released on Friday, June 19, at 10:00am BST.
The opening round of league matches is expected to commence on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
The season will run through a busy schedule of fixtures before concluding on Sunday, May 30, 2027, with all 10 final-day matches scheduled to kick off simultaneously.
In domestic cup competitions, Arsenal will enter the Carabao Cup from the third round due to their participation in the UEFA Champions League, while their FA Cup campaign will also begin at the third-round stage in line with top-flight clubs involved in European competitions.
