P-GAT Industries Ltd has announced a N300 billion mobility and infrastructure investment programme in Adamawa State, aimed at positioning the Northeast as a hub for sustainable transportation and economic development.
The announcement was made on Thursday in Numan by the company’s Chairman and President, Prime GA Timothy, ahead of the Affordable Transportation Solutions (ATRaS) Mobility Transition Summit 2026, scheduled for June 20 at the Pwanobato International Event Center.
Timothy said the choice of Numan as the host city was intentional, stressing that development opportunities should not be concentrated only in major urban centres.
He noted that P-GAT Industries is committed to ensuring that communities outside state capitals also benefit from investment, innovation, enterprise development, and infrastructure expansion.
According to him, the summit will serve as a transformative platform to attract investment, strengthen regional integration, and unlock economic opportunities across the Northeast.
It will bring together government officials, financial institutions, transport operators, infrastructure developers, technology providers, energy companies, traditional institutions, and international partners.
He added that rising transportation costs have continued to affect household income, productivity, and access to essential services, saying the ATRaS initiative was designed to address these challenges through inclusive and sustainable mobility solutions.
The programme includes the deployment of 300 electric tricycles in its first phase, with affordable fares reportedly as low as N50 per trip.
It will also feature integrated electric mobility systems, charging infrastructure, fleet management, financing models, and workforce development programmes, with strong emphasis on youth empowerment, women’s inclusion, and small business support.
Timothy further revealed that N150 billion—representing 50 percent of the total investment—has been allocated to the six states of the Northeast over the next three years.
He projected that the ATRaS Mobility Ecosystem could generate at least 50,000 direct jobs and another 50,000 indirect jobs across transportation, logistics, energy, infrastructure, maintenance, and enterprise development sectors.
He called for collaboration among governments, development agencies, financial institutions, technology firms, and traditional institutions to ensure successful implementation of the initiative.
