Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the appointment of members of the Kano State Sports Commission and the Management Board of Kano Pillars Football Club as part of ongoing efforts to reposition sports administration and promote youth development in the state.
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
The appointments into the Kano State Sports Commission are as follows:
Alhaji Tukur Babangida – Chairman.
Representative of ALGON – Member
Alhaji Balarabe Surajo (Wamban Karaye) – Member
Ibrahim Abba (Former Director) – Member
Auwal Surajo (Representative of Higher Institutions) – Member
Representative of Persons with Disabilities – Member
Sunusi Ismail – Member
Sani Musa Danja (Special Adviser on Youth Affairs) – Member
Bashir Maizare – Secretary
Similarly, the Governor approved the following appointments into the Management Board of Kano Pillars Football Club:
Ahmad Musbahu – Chairman
Abba Galadima – Member/Elder
Sharu Inuwa Rabiu – Member
Fatima Ibrahim Abubakar – Member
Bashir Idris (Former Chairman, Fans Club) – Member
Abubakar Isa Dandago – Member
Salisu Muhammad Kosawa – Member
Ahmed Musa – Sports Ambassador
Chairman, Kano Pillars Fans Club – Member
Jamilu Tijani Yamadawa (SSA Sports) – Member
Engr. Usman Mustapha K/Na’isa (SSA Mahaha) – Member
Murtala Umar – SSR
Kabiru Usman – SR
Governor Yusuf charged the appointees to deploy their wealth of experience and expertise towards strengthening sports development, identifying and nurturing young talents, and restoring the glory of Kano Pillars Football Club.
The Governor expressed confidence that the new leadership of the Sports Commission and Kano Pillars would usher in a new era of professionalism, excellence, and achievement in the state’s sporting sector.
