The Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission (KSSC), Alhaji Muhammad Tukur Babangida, has reiterated the state government’s commitment to improving sports infrastructure and promoting excellence in sports administration.
Babangida gave the assurance during a surprise visit to the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, where he was received by the stadium management, staff and well-wishers.
The visit marked his first official inspection of a facility under the commission since taking over from his predecessor.
Addressing the staff, the chairman urged them to remain committed to their duties, particularly in maintaining the stadium and ensuring a clean and healthy environment.
He called on the commission’s workforce to work collectively towards achieving its vision and ensuring that the Sani Abacha Stadium becomes one of the finest and most admired sporting facilities in the country.
Babangida said the visit was also aimed at strengthening the working relationship between the commission’s leadership and its workforce, while assessing the current condition of the stadium and identifying areas requiring government attention.
He also called on sports stakeholders to continue partnering with the commission in its efforts to develop sports and move Kano State to greater heights.
