Kano State Deputy Governor, Murtala Sule Garo, on Friday served as the Wali (guardian) at the wedding of Bilkisu Ibrahim Karaye, daughter of former Kano State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Ibrahim Ahmad Karaye.
The wedding fatiha was held at Jami’ur Rahma Jumu’ah Mosque, Kundila, where the bride was given in marriage to Habibu Ahmad after the payment of a dowry of N200,000.
The Deputy Chief Imam of the mosque, Dr. Abdullahi Muhammad Getso, solemnised the marriage.
Speaking during the ceremony, Garo prayed for the newly married couple, urging them to build their home on the values of faith, mutual respect and understanding.
“I pray that Almighty Allah blesses this union with peace, love, prosperity and enduring happiness. May He grant the couple the wisdom to build a successful family,” he said.
After the wedding, the deputy governor paid a congratulatory visit to a former Commissioner for Works, Engr. Idris Wada Sale, whose sons, Mahmoud Idris Wada Sale and Mujahid Idris Wada Sale, also celebrated their wedding ceremonies at Sharada Quarters in Kano.
During the visit, Garo congratulated the family and described marriage as an important institution that promotes stable families and a peaceful society.
“Marriage remains one of the foundations of a healthy society. We pray that Allah grants the couples lasting harmony and makes their homes a source of blessings,” he said.
The deputy governor also wished the families continued peace and unity, praying that the marriages would strengthen family ties and contribute positively to society.
“We ask Allah to continue blessing these families and grant the newlyweds success in their marital journey,” he added.
The deputy governor was accompanied by the Senator representing Kano South Senatorial District, Sen. Abdurrahman Sulaiman Kawu Sumaila; the member representing Karaye/Rogo Federal Constituency, Abdullahi Sani Rogo; former commissioners, former local government chairmen and other dignitaries.
