Kano State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, on Monday visited the families of deceased persons in Karaye, Kabo and Kano Municipal Local Government Areas to offer condolences over their losses.
The visits were contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Deputy Governor’s Office, Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu.
Garo began the condolence visits in Karaye Local Government Area, where he condoled with the family of the late Alhaji Muhammadu Dan Zara, a former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Karaye Local Government.
Dan Zara recently died, prompting the Deputy Governor to visit his family and sympathise with them over the loss.
Garo said the visit was to share in the grief of the deceased’s family and offer prayers for the departed.
“We are here to condole with the family and share in their grief at this difficult moment. We pray that Almighty Allah will forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest,” the Deputy Governor said.
He urged the family to remain steadfast and accept the loss as an act of divine will.
“We pray Allah to give the family the strength and fortitude to bear this painful loss and grant them the patience to overcome this difficult period,” Garo added.
The Deputy Governor and his entourage subsequently proceeded to Garo town in Kabo Local Government Area, where he visited several bereaved families.
Among those he visited was the family of Hon. Abba Salisu Maiwake, Secretary of Kabo Local Government, over the death of his mother, Hajiya Zainabu Abu Salisu.
Garo also condoled with the family of the late Hajiya Zainabu Adamu, popularly known as Zazzau, who was the mother of Alhaji Sani Master Garo. She died last week.
The Deputy Governor further visited the families of the late Alhaji Lawan Bako Ja and Jamilu Salisu Riga, a serving police officer who also recently died.
He also condoled with the family of the late Rabiu Ibrahim Likita.
The Deputy Governor later paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Alhaji Abdulkadir Yakassai in Kano Municipal Local Government Area.
According to the statement, the families and residents described the deceased as people who had close relationships with the Deputy Governor as family members, friends and associates.
The families expressed appreciation to Garo for identifying with them and visiting them during their period of grief.
They described his presence as a demonstration of concern for the families of the deceased and an indication of the close relationships he had maintained with them.
“We appreciate the Deputy Governor for coming to identify with us at a time when we are mourning. His visit has given us comfort and shown that he shares in our pain,” one of the family representatives said.
Garo prayed to Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and grant them eternal rest.
He also prayed for Allah to give the bereaved families the strength and fortitude to bear the losses.
“May Almighty Allah forgive all their shortcomings, grant them eternal rest and give their families the strength to bear the losses,” he prayed.
