Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Renewed Hope People Advocacy (RHPA) and the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), both supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, have agreed to partner and collaborate on grassroots mobilisation across the country.
The Director-General of RHPA, Alhaji Armayau Abubakar, disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja when he and other members of the organisation paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General of TSG, Dr. Umar Tanko Yakasai.
According to Abubakar, the visit was aimed at strengthening unity, strategic engagement and collaboration between the two organisations in support of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He described RHPA as a strategic advocacy platform committed to taking the message of the achievements of the present administration to Nigerians across the country.
Abubakar noted that political success depends largely on effective grassroots structures, stressing that support groups must work together rather than operate in isolation.
“Our presence here today is to strengthen the bridge between our organisations, identify areas of mutual cooperation, harmonise our programmes and strategies, and ensure that our collective efforts are directed towards one objective — building a stronger grassroots political structure capable of delivering victory in 2027 and beyond,” he said.
He identified data-driven mobilisation, effective communication, youth and women’s engagement, state-level consultations and sustained grassroots presence as key areas requiring greater attention ahead of the elections.
Abubakar said RHPA had established structures across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with offices already opened in several states.
He assured TSG of RHPA’s readiness to work with the group in the spirit of mutual respect, discipline, responsibility and commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Responding, Yakasai welcomed the delegation and described the visit as a major step towards strengthening cooperation among pro-Tinubu support groups.
He commended RHPA for its extensive grassroots structures, saying the organisation had demonstrated the capacity to contribute meaningfully to mobilisation efforts ahead of 2027.
Yakasai said no single support group could deliver the millions of votes required to secure victory for the President, stressing the need for collaboration among various groups.
“None of us is contesting to be President of Nigeria. So there is no competition. The work is such that one person cannot deliver all the millions of votes needed for the President to win,” he said.
The TSG Director-General also recalled the role played by the organisation in the political mobilisation that preceded the 2023 presidential election, saying the group was strategically positioned to coordinate support organisations ahead of the 2027 polls.
He disclosed that TSG was considering a decentralised approach to coordinating support groups, with state structures playing a more prominent role.
According to him, the proposed arrangement would enable support groups to work directly with TSG structures in states where they have an established presence, thereby improving accountability and ensuring that contributions are properly identified.
Yakasai explained that under the 2023 model, several support groups operated from the centre, which sometimes made it difficult to determine which organisation was responsible for specific grassroots mobilisation outcomes.
He said the new approach would ensure greater coordination, accountability and recognition for support groups based on their actual activities in different states.
Yakasai assured RHPA and other support organisations of TSG’s readiness to provide a platform for collaboration, particularly for groups with credible structures and the capacity to mobilise at the grassroots.
He expressed optimism that the partnership between RHPA and TSG would contribute to building a stronger and more coordinated political structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
Earlier, the National Publicity Secretary and Media Director of RHPA, Prince Adepuji Olatayo Teriba, said the organisation had established structures across the states, wards and all 774 local government areas of the country, with chairmen responsible for mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Teriba disclosed that, beyond Abuja, the organisation currently has secretariats in 10 states of the federation, as well as an international presence, as part of its preparations and mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 elections.
