The Chairman of Kumbotso Local Government Area, Hon. Ali Musa Danmaliki has credited Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf reconciliation and development agenda with restoring political unity in the council, while also boosting its capacity to generate revenue and deliver services to residents.
Danmaliki said the governor approach to resolving political differences had helped bring previously divided stakeholders together, creating a more stable political environment for development across the local government’s 11 wards.
According to him, political stakeholders in Kumbotso have now closed ranks and are working towards a common objective, describing the level of unity achieved under Governor Yusuf’s leadership as “100 per cent.”
The chairman also disclosed that the council’s internally generated revenue had increased from less than N1 million to about N4 million within one year of his administration, attributing the improvement to enhanced revenue mobilisation, accountability and administrative reforms.
He said the development had strengthened the council’s ability to respond to the needs of its people, while his administration continued to prioritise healthcare, electricity supply and social intervention programmes.
Danmaliki particularly praised Governor Yusuf for supporting major development projects in Kumbotso, including healthcare infrastructure and the construction of a bridge, describing the interventions as clear evidence of the governor’s commitment to improving the welfare of residents at the grassroots.
He said the governor’s policies had also encouraged greater political participation and acceptance of the administration development agenda, noting that about 80 Special Advisers, Personal Assistants and other political aides were currently supporting the council administration.
The chairman said the aides receive between N150,000 and N200,000 monthly, adding that their involvement had strengthened the administration’s engagement with different segments of the local government.
Danmaliki further said his administration had adopted an open-door policy, with regular direct engagement with residents to address complaints and pressing needs, alongside strengthened social support for people facing medical and other challenges.
He assured residents that the council would continue to align its programmes with Governor Yusuf’s development vision, particularly in the areas of revenue generation, Healthcare, Social intervention, infrastructure and political reconciliation.
The chairman maintained that the ultimate objective was to consolidate the gains of the governor’s reconciliation agenda and build a stronger, more united and economically viable Kumbotso Local Government Area.
