The Sokoto State Government, under the leadership of Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, has continued to demonstrate its commitment to the welfare, security, and well-being of communities affected by security challenges.
According to a statement issued by the Office of the Secretary, Kebbe Local Government Secretariat, a delegation constituted by Governor Ahmad Aliyu and led by the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Prof. Jabir Sani Maihulla, on Saturday visited Kebbe Local Government Area to condole with families affected by the recent terrorist attack and provide financial and food assistance to the victims.
The delegation presented N8 million in financial assistance and food items to the families of eight deceased victims, with each family receiving N1 million and five bags of food items.
Similarly, four injured victims received a total of N1 million, with each victim receiving N250,000, alongside three bags each of rice, millet, and maize.
Addressing the affected families and residents of Kebbe, the leader of the delegation, Prof. Jabir Sani Maihulla, expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences over the unfortunate incident.
He appealed to the families to remain steadfast and assured them that Governor Aliyu was deeply concerned and saddened by the incident.
He emphasised that the governor was doing everything within his capacity to address the security challenges, including providing operational vehicles, logistical support, and other necessary assistance to security agencies to strengthen their operations and support efforts to end terrorist activities.
The Executive Chairman of Kebbe Local Government Council, Hon. Musa Garba Kuchi, expressed profound appreciation to Governor Ahmad Aliyu for the timely intervention, compassion, and continued support for the people of Kebbe, particularly during periods of crisis.
He commended the state government for its continuous efforts to strengthen security and ensure that affected communities receive the necessary attention and support whenever unfortunate incidents occur.
The chairman reaffirmed that the local government council would continue to provide the necessary support within its capacity to security agencies, including logistical assistance, timely information sharing, and cooperation with the state government and relevant security authorities.
He further called on the people of Kebbe to continue praying to Allah for His intervention, lasting peace, security, and relief across the affected communities.
The Sarkin Kebbin Kebbe, Hon. Lawali Labbo Margai, and the Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Bala Kokani, also commended the state government for its continued concern and interventions whenever the people face challenges, while praying for lasting peace and stability across Kebbe Local Government Area.
The delegation was accompanied by the Executive Chairman of Tambuwal Local Government, Alhaji Abba Shehu; Special Advisers to the Governor, Hon. Garba Maitunbi and Hon. Bello Garba; APC leaders from Kebbe and Tambuwal Local Government Areas; the member representing the constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Samaila Hamisu Kuchi; Secretary of Kebbe Local Government Council, Alhaji Shamsudeen Umar Maiakwai; and other dignitaries.
