Kano State has, on Saturday witnessed a massive political mobilisation as thousands of members and supporters of the Tinubu Support Groups (TSG) converged on the Sani Abacha Stadium for the inauguration of the leadership of Tinubu Support Groups 2.0.
The event was organised by the Director-General of the Tinubu Support Groups in the North-West, Hon. Dr. Baffa Babba Dan’agundi, and brought together political leaders, elected officials, party stakeholders and grassroots supporters in a strong show of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda.
The event was attended by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, and the Founder of the Tinubu Support Groups, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, who joined thousands of TSG members at the inauguration of the new leadership structure.
Also in attendance were the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf; Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin; Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo; Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Isma’eel Falgore; and other prominent political leaders.
The gathering also attracted former Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; Member of the House of Representatives for Bichi Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Bichi; commissioners; local government chairmen; councillors; members of the National and State Assemblies; and APC leaders at the state, local government and ward levels.
Their presence, alongside the large turnout of grassroots supporters, underscored the growing political significance of TSG 2.0 and the strategic importance of Kano in the political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.
One of the major highlights of the event was the reception of prominent political figures and their supporters into the APC, signalling a fresh wave of political realignment in Kano.
The development was led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in the presence of APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe and former Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Among those received were Senator Rufa’i Sani Hanga, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya and Ali Datti Yako, alongside several other political stakeholders who declared their allegiance to the APC.
The successful inauguration of TSG 2.0 further demonstrated the organisational capacity and grassroots reach of the structure established under the leadership of Dr. Baffa Babba Dan’agundi across the North-West.
The massive turnout was seen as an indication that the Tinubu Support Groups are building a more coordinated grassroots mobilisation network ahead of 2027, with a renewed commitment to taking the message of President Tinubu’s administration directly to communities, wards and local government areas.
Following the stadium event, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf led the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe; TSG Founder, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke; former Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; and other dignitaries to the newly established Tinubu Support Groups headquarters at No. 10 Audu Bako Way, Kano, where the office was formally commissioned.
The delegation also witnessed the unveiling of campaign vehicles provided through the initiative of Dr. Baffa Babba Dan’agundi. The vehicles are expected to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and support advocacy for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Kano State Government and other APC candidates.
The Kano TSG 2.0 inauguration therefore marked more than the unveiling of a new leadership structure. It represented a significant political statement on the strength of grassroots mobilisation and the evolving political landscape in Kano and the North-West.
With the strategic coordination of Dr. Baffa Babba Dan’agundi, the new structure is expected to intensify grassroots engagement, strengthen support for the Tinubu administration and position the Tinubu Support Groups as a formidable mobilisation platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.
