Popular TikTok creator Awaisu Hashimu, popularly known as Awaisu Bin Hasheem, has called on the government to pay greater attention to the growing influence of social media and its impact on society.
Awaisu made the call while highlighting the important role social media platforms play in educating, informing and connecting people, particularly young Nigerians.
He urged the government to recognise social media as an important part of modern communication and create more opportunities for young people using digital platforms to share knowledge, promote positive values and contribute to society.
According to him, greater attention to the social media sector could help address some of the challenges faced by content creators while also encouraging the responsible use of digital platforms.
Awaisu further encouraged young people to use social media responsibly and focus on creating content that benefits individuals, families and the wider community.
