The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Isma’il Falgore, has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, the Speaker said there was every reason to thank Almighty Allah for keeping the country united despite numerous challenges, noting that significant progress had been recorded in various sectors of national development.
Rt. Hon. Falgore observed that over the past 66 years, Kano State had witnessed remarkable development in healthcare, agriculture and livestock, education, science and technology, as well as other critical sectors aimed at improving the welfare and well-being of the people.
He noted that Nigeria had also recorded significant growth in population, the creation of additional states and local government areas, an increase in its revenue base and, above all, the sustenance of democratic governance.
The Speaker further stated that as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary, Kano State is fortunate to have visionary leaders, including Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, whose policies and programmes, he said, continue to place the state at the forefront of development, particularly in education and other key sectors.
Rt. Hon. Falgore extended his felicitations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and all Nigerians on the occasion.
“On behalf of the Kano State House of Assembly, I congratulate all Nigerians on the 66th Independence Anniversary of our great nation,” he said.
