Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Guyuk/Shelleng Federal Constituency in Adamawa State, Hon. Golfa Chaugwarau, has urged her media team to intensify coverage of the party’s activities and promote its programmes and political engagements.
Chaugwarau gave the charge while addressing members of her media team, emphasising the importance of strategic media coverage in communicating the party’s activities and keeping voters informed about its programmes and political direction.
The APC candidate called on the team to give adequate attention to the party’s activities and highlight the importance of the 2027 general elections.
She also urged them to encourage voters to support the party’s candidates across all elective positions, from the presidency and governorship to legislative seats.
Hon. Chaugwarau, who is working alongside APC leaders, stakeholders and supporters in Guyuk and Shelleng, said their collective objective was to strengthen the party’s presence at polling units, wards and local government levels ahead of the 2027 elections.
She noted that the level of political participation in the two local government areas would determine their representation and influence in the next government.
“Guyuk and Shelleng must be part of the people who will form the government in 2027. We must understand that our votes are our voices and that they count.
“Through active participation in the electoral process, we can demonstrate our political relevance and ensure that our communities have a place in government,” she said.
She added that politics was about electing representatives from the constituency and supporting the APC governorship candidate in Adamawa State, whom she said could provide an enabling environment and opportunities for Guyuk and Shelleng to strengthen their participation in governance.
Chaugwarau further emphasised that effective political representation could create opportunities for the area to attract government attention, infrastructure, development projects and other benefits of democratic governance.
Urging voters to recognise the importance of participating in the electoral process, she said the political strength of any constituency depended largely on its commitment to democracy.
She also called on party leaders and supporters to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, maintain unity and work collectively towards achieving the party’s objectives ahead of the 2027 elections.
The candidate stressed the need for coordinated communication between the media team and party stakeholders to ensure effective coverage and projection of APC activities across Guyuk, Shelleng and other parts of Adamawa State.
