A student of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Sani Isma’il, has invented a device capable of detecting gas leakage and signs of fire outbreak at an early stage.
The student, from the Faculty of Science and Technology Education, Department of Human Kinetics, designed the device named Safety Life Gas and Fire Emergency Alarm.
He explained that the device is an electronic innovation developed to detect gas leakage and fire hazards early, with the aim of protecting human lives, buildings and property from gas leakage, fire outbreak and gas explosion.
According to him, when the device detects any problem or danger, it sends warning alerts through two channels:
First, the device sounds an alarm to alert people nearby that there is danger.
He further stated that it also sends a notification to a mobile phone to enable the owner to receive information about the danger promptly, even when he is not close to the device.
The main objective of the project is to reduce hazards arising from gas leakage, fire outbreak and gas explosion.
The device can be used in different places, including homes, students’ hostels, offices, industries and other places where gas is used.
The benefits of the device are that it detects gas leakage early and gives warning when danger is detected.
It helps protect human lives, protects buildings and property, reduces the possibility of fire outbreak and gas explosion, and sends emergency notification to mobile phones.
The Safety Life Gas and Fire Emergency Alarm is an important electronic technology project designed to help protect lives and property. The device uses modern technology to detect danger and alert people promptly.
However, it is important to note that the device is a protective aid, but it does not replace fire extinguishers or compliance with safety regulations.
