Kano State deputy governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, on Saturday, accused the former governor of the state, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, with the backing of the National Security Adviser’s office, for orchestrating the “smuggling” of the dethroned Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero, back into the state.
He spoke while briefing journalists at the Emir’s palace in the early hours of Saturday after, along with himself and the state governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf escorted the Emir, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II to the palace in the late hours of Friday.
The Triumph, yesterday, reports that the state House of Assembly repealed the law that ex-Governor Ganduje had signed on December 5, 2019.
After signing the law, Ganduje split the Emirate into five and appointed Emirs to each.
Upon signing the repealed Kano Emirates Council Law, Yusuf gave all the Emirs affected by the law 48 hours to vacate their palaces and hand them over to the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Gwarzo, his voice laced with anger, condemned what he saw as a deliberate attempt to undermine the state government’s decision. “It is utterly unacceptable,” he fumed, “that the APC National Chairman, Ganduje, would use the National Security Adviser’s office to create chaos.
“Bringing back the dethroned Emir in a chartered flight is a blatant disregard for protocol.
“The Federal Government has no business interfering in this matter,” he declared.
