Katsina National Emergency Management Agency has commenced distribution of 28,828 bags of Maize, Sorghum and Milet to minimise economic hardship in Katsina state.
The food items is to be distributed under the watch of anti graft agencies.
Speaking at the occasion, Director General of NEMA, Zubaida Umar said 20 percent of the food items should be given to religious bodies such as Ja’amatul Nasaral lslam and CAN.
Represented by Zonal Coordinator of North West Zone Mr lshaya Isah Chonoke further said three percent should distributed to boarding school.
She alerted Katsina Government on the need to take measures against possible flood at Faskari, Sandamu and jibia.
In his speech Governor Dikko Umar Radda commended NEMA for providing the food items and assure fair distribution.
Radda announced the presentation of ₦20 million assistance to victims of fire disaster in the state.ln her remark Executive Secretary of state Management
Agency Binta Dangani said committees were set up at Local government level for distribution of the food items.Dangani commended Governor Radda for assisting the agency.
