Concerned citizens mostly Hausa/Fulani of Ngalda in Fika LGA said that they cannot fold their arms and watch things go wrong in their native land such as the alleged political imbalance in the occupation of the Speaker Fika Local Government Council.
The leader of the group, Alhaji Sule Ngalda who is also the Chief of Ngalda Market revealed to our Correspondent today. According to him “Although we are politically neutral, as a non-political group rather care for the welfare of our people, but highly interested in what happens in the political space both at Fika LGA
Ngalda further posited that the interest of justice, equity, and fair play should be applied in the local government area, and the Hausa/Fulani should also be given a sense of belonging in the representation.
They promised to dig deep into finding out why the nominated Speaker of Fika LGA Council, Yusuf Mohammed Auwal a Hausa/Fulani elected Councillor representing Ngalda/Dumbulwa ward was allegedly being criticized by an elected representative from the LGA.
“Our skeletal research on the sharing of positions reveals that the elected Chairman of Fika LGA is Ngamo by tribe, Vice Chairman is Bolewa, Janga/Boza ward Councillor Karai-Karai, Turmi/Maluri Bolewa, Shoye/Garin Aba Ngamo, Mubi/Fusami Ngamo, Garu Karai-Karai, Gudi/Dozi Ngamo, Garu Karai-Karai, Fika/Anze Bolewa, Gadaka/Shembire Ngamo, Duffuyel/Zangaya Ngamo. Here you can see that the Fulani despite their huge population have only one Councillor and they want to truncate him becoming the speaker”.
He said such the Hausa/Fulani and other settlers have contributed immensely towards the success of the government during the election period.
“We are therefore appealing to the stakeholders concerned to leave the nominated Speaker of the LGA to continue with his work”.
