The Interim Chairperson of Wudil Local Government Area of Kano State, Hajiya Bilkisu Yakubu Indabo, has condemned the vandalization and looting of public properties during the nationwide #Endbadgovernance protests held on 1st August 2024 in the state.
This was contained in a statement by Nura Bala Ajingi, which was issued to newsmen and made available to The Triumph on Thursday.
The statement reads: “I would like to inform you that during this demonstration, some miscreants used this opportunity to steal 2,444 bags of fertilizers, 50 sewing machines, roofing sheets of the local government secretariat and burnt down some parts of the secretariat offices as well as all the equipment in the offices.
“I am confident that the Wudil community are peace-loving people and are always passionate about the development of the local government and will not, therefore, participate in any act of protest, public disturbance or looting of government properties.”
According to her, the interim management of the local government has given an order to the security agencies to track down the culprits for prosecution.
“I am also warning all those who may have the intention to perpetrate such act in Wudil Local Government to refrain from doing so because the government will not fold its arms and watch such unpatriotic groups vandalize and loot public properties.
“While calling on parents to warn their children against joining bad elements for peace and tranquillity in the area.
“I also called on the people of Wudil Local Government to avoid all divisive tendencies, especially in politics. Instead, they should focus on inclusive politics for the development of the area.
“I pray that Almighty Allah would continue to guide Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, his deputy Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo and NNPP Leader Engr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso for their sacrifice and dedication to ensure good governance in Kano and Nigeria at large.
“May Allah bless Wudil, Kano state and Nigeria in general; may His peace and blessings continue to reign supreme in all our undertakings, Ameen,” she further revealed.
