Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, in accompany of members of the State Executive Council, was among hundreds of Muslim faithful who attended the funeral prayer of late Alhaji Shehu Yusuf Dan Makwayo at the Emir’s Palace, Kano.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
The deceased, an uncle to the Governor, died Wednesday night after a protracted illness at the age of 78.
He was a former staff of Kano State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Late Alhaji Shehu Yusuf Dan Makwayo is survived by three wives, 31 children and 120 grandchildren.
The Governor prayed to Almighty Allah, the most exalted to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest and may Jannatul Firdausi be his final abode.

After the funeral prayer, the Governor and his entourage proceeded to his father’s grave, late Malam Kabir Yusuf and conducted a prayer for the dead of the soul.
