No fewer than 80 per cent of families embraced the family planning campaign by Adamawa State Primary Health Care, TCI and DavComs in the Song local government area of Adamawa.
The enlightenment carried out by Adamawa State Primary Health Care, in collaboration with ‘The Challenge Initiative (TCI) with DavComs Network support on media advocacy for Family planning, has resulted in the involvement of ten men in family planning.
The advocacy investigation carried out by some Journalists has an identity that despite the embraced family planning campaign, the people of Song said their major constraint is the lack of enough Micro Juno injection and Noristeral tablets, however, it was alleged that it is to reduce reproduction women in some quarters but now it has the Women in child spacing and reliefs to the Mothers.
An investigation carried out in Housa Dilate shows that the campaign has impacted tremendously as several families now access family planning programs in Son.
A visit to the Family planning unit of Song Cottage Hospital in the Song local government area of Adamawa state has made it known that the awareness through the campaign is no more news but a reality as it is no more a gimmick but a relief to the women.
This, according to the unit head of Family Planning Song, Hadiza Abubakar, the rate at which the planning is based on The Challenge Initiative (TCI) training has forced them to sort for these women through their mobilisers as they come with identified cards, although some of them volunteer and come on those own.
Abubakar said that Wednesdays are mostly their R.I. Impusm immunizations. The women came in numbers with their children, including others; they noted that some women are mobilised by Doctors, especially those who undergo abortions, and C.S. patients prefer homes instead of hospitals.
She said some women don’t want to give birth any more; the children are enough to go through abortion or CS it’s to rest; therefore, family planning has come to stay.
After all this, the unit head revealed that their major constraints are bleeding due to a lack of Micro Juno and that the problem erupted about three months ago. The Micro Juno is also not available. The Micro Juno and Nollestra are among the preferred two, but it is no longer available; for now, we don’t have them even if we are opportune only 7. Therefore, we’ve written if written to the authorities concerned.
According to her, “We’ve never had problems from their husbands resisting the family planning, adding that the micro Juno about 70- 80 per cent embraced despite its non-availability.
Fatima Salihu, a first-timer, said that she was initially afraid but, when understanding that it has no side effect of any nature without hesitation, joined family planning proper.
Salihu is a mother of ten, ” I engaged in family planning during my ninth child. When I heard of FP. I thought it a gimmick to limit child births.
I started family planning with theand tablates graduated to micro juno, it was at this point my husband encouraged me as at now I am okey with the ten children”.
Here is another Fatima Adamu Layere a mother of two, who express her experience that, her introduction to family planning yo the grass was a welcome development as started too through Nostera tabulates.
In 2016, ” I was introduced to Nostera tabulates for twelve months after noticing no problems as insinuated by people.
According her, engagement into family planning she’s looking healthier, fresher, shinning and beautiful the more, I have a two year old boy, two weeks now I stopped breast feeding so that my children will have better spacing.
She reiterated that been the first and the last wife ” my husband never denied me embracing Family planning and I started never experience any problems but some complained of blood floor.”
The advocacy visit by journalists to five local government areas in Adamawa state includes Song, Girei, Yola south, Yola north in Central zone and Demsa from the Southern zone.
