The Adamawa State Civil Service Commission has shortlisted 52,003 eligible candidates out of the 96,102 who applied in the ongoing employment exercise into the state workforce.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, on Tuesday.
The Commission stated that the screening process was rigorous and guided by laid-down criteria, which resulted in the disqualification of 44,099 applicants for various reasons.
“Some of the reasons for disqualification include candidates with NCE qualifications which were not part of the advertised requirements, mismatched fields of study and qualifications, incorrect document uploads, overaged applicants, non-indigenes of Adamawa State, and existing local government council employees,” the statement noted.
The state government reiterated its commitment to a transparent and merit-based recruitment process. “We assure all applicants that due process is being followed. We urge candidates to ensure they possess the requisite documents and qualifications to avoid disqualification,” the statement added.
The Commission also advised the shortlisted 52,003 applicants to prepare adequately for the next stage of the exercise. “All successful candidates are expected to comply with guidelines to be issued by the Civil Service Commission to ensure a smooth continuation of the recruitment process,” it said.
The screening exercise is part of efforts by the Fintiri administration to strengthen the state’s civil service and address manpower gaps in critical sectors.
