A joint security operation has intercepted and neutralized a key logistics supplier linked to armed bandits in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The operation, which took place near Ofere-Bunu community, was part of a renewed security campaign coordinated by the Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu LGA, Hon. Zacchaeus Dare Michael, in collaboration with local vigilante groups, community stakeholders, and the Nigerian Army.
Security sources told Triumph that the suspect was responsible for supplying food, communication gadgets, arms, and ammunition to bandit groups operating within the axis.
“This action is a clear signal to all those who aid and abet criminals within our communities,” Hon. Michael said in a statement after the operation. “We will not rest until every safe haven and support line for these enemies of peace is completely uprooted. Our people deserve to live free from fear.”
According to the sources, intelligence gathering and community collaboration were instrumental in tracking the suspect before he reached his destination.
Michael reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to intensifying joint operations and strengthening intelligence-sharing with security agencies to keep Kabba/Bunu safe.
Residents were also urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities as security forces continue to maintain a visible presence across the area.
The latest success, stakeholders say, represents a significant step in dismantling the logistical networks sustaining criminal operations in Kogi State.
