The Sokoto State Government has allocated over N190 million to pay compensation to the people of Tangaza for the construction of a vocational school by the federal government in the area.
The State Commissioner for Lands, Housing, Urban and Regional Planning, Barrister Nasiru Aliyu Dan Tsoho, stated that the government has ensured the payment of the compensation to the landowners, which the previous government of Tambuwal failed to do.
The Commissioner emphasized that the payment is being made according to the established procedure, with certificates issued to the beneficiaries after verification by the village head or district head, to avoid any misuse of funds.
He also appealed to the beneficiaries to use the funds to purchase more land for farming, to increase agricultural productivity.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Governor Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto and Senator Dr. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko for their efforts in bringing the vocational school to their area.
The event was attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Ahmad Moyi Tambuwal, the Director-General of SOGIS, and other directors of the ministry.
