The Sokoto State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Alhaji Sambo Bello Danchadi, has assured the Nigeria Correctional Service, Sokoto Command, of the Ministry’s maximum support and cooperation in promoting public awareness about the Service’s activities.
Danchadi made this commitment when he received the new Controller of Corrections, Garba Tsalha, who paid him a courtesy visit at his office.
The Commissioner emphasized the need for the public to change their perception about correctional centers, noting that they are institutions established to reform, rehabilitate, and reintegrate offenders into society.
He commended the Nigeria Correctional Service for its efforts in providing reformation and skills acquisition programs for inmates, which contribute to reducing crime and promoting social stability.
Danchadi also highlighted the achievements of the present administration under Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, including job creation and empowerment initiatives.
The new Controller of Corrections, Garba Tsalha, sought partnership with the Ministry of Information and Orientation to sensitize the public on the Service’s reformation and rehabilitation roles.
He appreciated the Commissioner’s warm reception and commitment to partnership, assuring that the Service would continue to promote security, rehabilitation, and social development in the state.
