The Interim Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, Hon. Kabiru Ibrahim Danguguwa, has called on the Kano State government to intervene and overhaul the dilapidated Kwakwaci market.
Speaking to newsmen yesterday, the chairman emphasized the market’s significance as a major source of livelihood for the youth of the area.
He revealed that over a thousand young people are engaged in various mechanic and commercial activities within the market.
Hon. Danguguwa further expressed concern over the deteriorating state of the market, noting that it has become a safety hazard to traders and customers alike.
He appealed to the state government to prioritize the reconstruction of the market to create a conducive business environment for the teeming youths.
The council boss also highlighted the various developmental strides achieved by his administration since assuming office. He mentioned projects in the health, water, and education sectors as key areas of focus.
He said, “We are building a new Primary Healthcare Centre, PHC in Dawanau area of the local government. We will ensure a prompt completion of the project and provide it with the modern equipment for efficient service delivery. “
As part of the education, which is the topmost priority of the NNPP-led administration, the council chairman said he constructed eight class room built by the administration of the former governor of the state, Engr. Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
He, however, appealed to the state government to construct road in the Kwakwaci market for the well-being of the motorists and activities in the market.
