The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State has set a target to digitally register at least 200,000 members across the state by the end of December 2025.
The initiative is aimed at building a credible, technology-driven membership database that will eliminate ghost entries and strengthen the party’s electoral capacity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking in Yola, the State Secretary of the party, Dr. Raymond Chidama, said the digital registration exercise will revolutionize how the APC manages its membership records and data for planning, empowerment, and administrative purposes.
He noted that the party has revised its registration requirements to make the process more transparent and electorally relevant.
“Initially, the National Identification Number (NIN) was the primary requirement for registration, but the party has now made the Permanent Voter Card (PVC) the key prerequisite for enrollment.
This is deliberate because anyone without a voter card has less business with the party, as our ultimate interest is building a membership base that translates directly into electoral strength,” Chidama said.
The State Organizing Secretary and coordinator of the exercise, Mustapha Atiku Ribadu, explained that the initiative became necessary after reviewing the party’s voting performance against its membership claims.
He said discrepancies in both national and state membership data highlighted the urgent need to weed out inactive and ghost members.
Ribadu commended efforts in Delta State, where e-registration has already begun, and acknowledged the support of prominent party leaders, including the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and APC National Vice Chairman, Mustapha Salihu.
He said the party has procured and deployed laptops, printers, laminators, and power banks across all zones, local governments, and wards to ensure a smooth registration process.
He stressed that the system allows only one entry per person and warned against multiple registrations, adding that only accredited ward agents are authorized to register individuals.
“We want to build a loyal, active, and verifiable support base to ensure that APC wins Adamawa State decisively in the 2027 elections,” Ribadu added.
