From Atiku Sarki, Abuja
As Muslims across Nigeria joined their counterparts around the world to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, the Mai Yakanaje of Uke in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, His Royal Highness, Dr. Alhaji Ahmed H. Abdullahi, has offered prayers for peace, unity, and national development.
Speaking from his palace on Friday during his Sallah message, the traditional ruler emphasized the need for harmony across religious and ethnic lines, stressing that no nation can achieve meaningful development in the absence of peace.
“I thank Almighty Allah for keeping us alive to witness this special day,” he said. “My Sallah message to the people of Nigeria, and especially Nasarawa State, is to wish them a joyous celebration. May God continue to unite us — Muslims and non-Muslims alike — as one family living in peace for the progress of our country.”
Dr. Abdullahi also prayed for the continued success of the Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, asking God to grant him protection and wisdom to fulfill his mandate.
In his remarks, a former Chairman of Karu Local Government Area, Hon. Jafa’aru Ango, congratulated Muslims on the occasion and prayed for enduring peace and unity among citizens.
“I feel very happy today and thank Allah for allowing us to witness this day,” he said. “We must continue to pray for peace because where there is peace, there is progress. Where there is progress, there is influence — and from influence, people can prosper.”
Also speaking, the Chief Imam of JIBWIS Usman Bn Affan Mosque, Uke, Adam Suleiman, and the Sarkin Katsinawa Uke, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed, expressed gratitude to God for life and health.
They joined other Muslim faithful in praying for Nigeria’s leaders and called for collective efforts to foster unity and harmony across the country.
