Borno State Governor, His Excellency Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has been commended for his visionary leadership and efforts to create an enabling environment for entrepreneurs and youth empowerment, contributing to the sustainable economic development of the state and Nigeria at large.
The commendation came from Ambassador (Dr.) Sutiya Muhammad Kolo during her acceptance speech at the recent induction ceremony held in Abuja by the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Apprenticeships Management and Administration (IEAMA) in conjunction with Enterprise Grooming Institute (EGI) Ltd.
Dr. Sutiya, who was inducted as a Doctorate Fellow alongside 17 other members, expressed her appreciation for the recognition and acknowledged Governor Zulum’s role in fostering an environment where entrepreneurs and youths can thrive.
“Despite the security challenges in Borno State, Governor Babagana Zulum, through his steadfast leadership, has helped make the state more comfortable and conducive for business growth. His commitment has empowered youths to stand on their own and build sustainable businesses,” she said.
She added, “I specially acknowledge our able and visionary Governor, His Excellency Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, MNI, FNSCN, whose resilience and braveness in the face of insecurity have been truly exemplary. His leadership has played a vital role in this successful journey that has brought us here today.”
Dr. Sutiya also highlighted the significance of entrepreneurship and apprenticeship in driving development in the North-East. “This recognition affirms the importance of entrepreneurship, apprenticeship, and effective administration in promoting sustainable development for the North-East, particularly Borno State. Despite years of insecurity and challenges, we are here today because of resilience, determination, and leadership that continues to invest in people and possibilities,” she said.
She further extended gratitude to her mentor, Alhaji Goni Dunoma, Board Chairman of the Borno Investment Company, Prof. Usman Tar, Honourable Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, the General Manager of Borno Express, and other individuals and organizations who have supported entrepreneurship initiatives in the state.
“I also extend heartfelt appreciation to my beloved brothers and sisters, my mother Hajja Falmata Muhammad Kolo, and my late second mother, Hajja Maryam Muhammad Kolo, whose selfless, tireless love and support remain unforgettable,” Dr. Sutiya added.
The entrepreneur dedicated her award to her late father, Dr. Engr. Muhammad Kolo, stating: “With deep humility, I dedicate this award to my late father, who laid the foundation that made our being here today possible and whose values continue to guide our path. I accept this induction with gratitude and a renewed commitment to uphold the values of IEAMA and continue contributing to entrepreneurship and youth empowerment.”
The induction ceremony, themed “Grooming a New Generation of Structured Entrepreneurs and Professional Apprentices for Sustainable National Development”, saw a total of 53 inductees. Of these, 18 were inducted as Doctorate Fellows, 21 as Fellows, and 14 as Senior Members.
