Descendants of Malam Salihu Dan Abu Huraira have held their annual Sallah reunion, reaffirming their commitment to unity, brotherhood and mutual support.
The gathering, held on Sunday, brought together family members from across the nation and the Diaspora, providing an opportunity to reconnect and strengthen family ties.
The annual reunion, which has become a tradition among the descendants, served as a platform for interaction, exchange of pleasantries and fostering closer relationships within the extended family.
Speaking at the event, the chairman of Tsakuwa Mufarka Community Development Association, Alhaji Tasiu Alhassan Tsakuwa, expressed appreciation to members who travelled from far and near to attend the gathering.
He also acknowledged the contributions of individuals who supported the success of the event, both financially and materially.
Malam Umar Saleh Sheka and Malama Amina Fanteka, used the occasion to remind participants of Islamic teachings on unity and brotherhood, stressing the importance of such gatherings in promoting peaceful coexistence and strengthening family bonds.
In his remarks, Malam Saminu Alhassan Abdullahi traced the family lineage to Tsakuwa town in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of Kano State, noting that Malam Salihu Dan Abu Huraira had six children – Shuaibu, Murtala, Hadiza, Ibrahim, Idris and Siraja.
He explained that the family has since grown and spread across several states, including Kano, Jigawa, Kaduna, Borno and Plateau, as well as internationally in Chad, Cameroon and Saudi Arabia.
The highlight of the reunion was the presentation of goodwill messages by elders of the family, as well as special greetings from members who travelled from Chad.
The event concluded with exchange of pleasantries and special prayers for the repose of departed family members, as well as for peaceful coexistence and continued prosperity among the descendants
