From Muawuya Bala Idris, Katsina
Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, has called on residents of the state to support security agencies by providing credible and timely information to help combat the lingering insecurity.
Radda made the appeal on Sunday while receiving the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, at the Old Government House during the traditional Hawan Bariki festivities, part of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Garba Faskari, the governor described the fight against insecurity as a collective responsibility.
“The fight against insecurity is a shared responsibility, and together we can overcome it,” he said.
He added that the government remains open to receiving any advice or intelligence that could support efforts toward restoring peace across the state.
Radda reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of citizens by investing in key sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and youth development.
The governor also urged parents, religious leaders, traditional rulers, and youth to be vigilant in the fight against drug abuse, which he said continues to destroy lives and threaten the future of society.
“Drug abuse has become a serious concern that undermines the foundation of our communities. We must all rise against it,” he said.
In his remarks, the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, commended the state government for the steps it has taken to tackle insecurity.
The royal father also called for sustained prayers for lasting peace in the state and beyond, urging leaders at all levels to fear Allah and remain sincere in the discharge of their duties
