The relief aid, which is part of the government’s response to the devastating floods that have affected many parts of the state, will be distributed to registered flood victims from Geidam LGA.
The distribution will be based on the severity of the impact, availability of resources, and mobilized resources to complement ongoing response efforts.
Save the Children International (SCI) has partnered with the government to provide monthly multipurpose cash assistance (MPCA) of 50,000 naira to 536 households for three months.
The cash assistance is expected to boost household income and support recovery and reintegration efforts.
Additionally, each benefiting household will receive a set of non-food items (NFIs) and dignity kits.
The distribution of relief items will take place from September 24th to 26th, 2024, and will benefit victims from various wards and communities in Geidam LGA.
The Yobe State Government has emphasized its commitment to providing relief to flood-affected communities and has called on all stakeholders to continue supporting the ongoing response efforts.
