The Madakin Gudi Foundation has paid about five months’ stipends to 167 volunteer teachers serving in 21 schools across five wards in Fika Local Government Area, Yobe State.

A team from the foundation carried out the payment exercise on March 11, 2026, visiting the benefiting schools across several communities.

The team commenced the exercise in Chana community before moving to Godowoli and other villages, ending the exercise in Gadaka, Yobe State.

Speaking during the exercise, the team leader, Muhammad Lamba, said the initiative was aimed at motivating volunteer teachers to continue supporting education development in rural communities.

“This gesture is meant to encourage the volunteers to work harder and remain committed to improving education in these communities,” he said.

Lamba added that the programme formed part of the foundation’s broader efforts to promote education in underserved areas.

An elder statesman in Godowoli, Haruna Godowoli, described the initiative as a major contribution to the development of education in the area.

“This support will complement government efforts in revitalising education in our rural communities,” he said.

He urged other philanthropists to emulate the founder of the foundation, Muhammad Gadaka.

Some beneficiaries, including Muhammad Musa of Godowoli Primary School, Abdul-Salam Idriss of Zayyi Primary School and Inusa Isiya of Gidim Primary School, also commended the foundation for the support.

The foundation also distributed a 50kg bag of sugar and a carton of spaghetti to district heads in the communities for onward distribution to school principals and imams.
