The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Local Government Matters, Hon. Bashir Abubakar Yaro Galadima, has called on the Kumbotso Local Government Council to give utmost priority to legacy and grassroots-oriented projects that will improve the living standards of the people and ensure sustainable development at the local level.
Hon. Galadima made the call during an inspection visit to assess the progress of the N300 million project fund released by the state government to the 44 Local Government Areas for the execution of developmental projects.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Aminu Bello Sani, the SSA emphasised the need for impactful and people-centred projects that would leave behind enduring benefits for the community.
He explained that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration remains committed to promoting grassroots transformation through investments in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and human capital development.
“Legacy projects are not just physical structures; they represent hope, progress, and a promise to future generations. We must ensure that every project we undertake adds lasting value to our communities,” Galadima stated.
The governor’s aide also directed the construction of girls’ toilets and the provision of desks and chairs at Gadama Co-exist School in Gaida to promote dignity and comfort for female students, adding that such interventions are essential in advancing girl-child education and public hygiene.
Hon. Galadima commended the leadership of Kumbotso Local Government Council for its dedication to delivering meaningful projects that align with the administration’s vision for inclusive development.
He further charged the council to continue prioritising key sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure to enhance service delivery and foster socioeconomic growth.
Earlier, the Council Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Ghali Basaf, represented by the House Leader, Hon. Nafiu Mariri, expressed appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his unwavering support and commitment to the council.
He noted that the governor’s intervention has paved the way for numerous developmental projects that have transformed Kumbotso Local Government, assuring that the council would continue to justify the confidence reposed in it by the present administration.
“Governor Yusuf’s passion for grassroots development is evident in the lives of our people today. His support has brought hope, development, and prosperity to Kumbotso, and we remain grateful for his visionary leadership,” he said.
The inspection visit was part of the governor’s ongoing efforts to ensure transparency, accountability, and quality delivery in the execution of local government projects across Kano State.
