The Kano State Executive Council has approved ₦54,798,217,384.19 for a wide range of capital projects spanning education, health, infrastructure, water supply, and administrative development across the state.
The approvals were issued during the 34th Executive Council Meeting held on Thursday at the Council Chamber, Government House, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Education sector receives major allocation as ₦4,680,187,008.16 was approved for the rehabilitation of key schools, including: Government Technical College (GTC), Dambatta, Government Technical College, Ungogo and Falgore Primary School.
The Council also revalidated and reallocated funds earlier approved to the Community Reorientation Committee (CRC) and transferred them to SUBEB for school renovation, provision of furniture, procurement of classroom fittings for 13 local government areas and completion of furnishing for 34 school libraries
Under the Ministry of Higher Education, the Council approved ₦345,000,000.00 for operational vehicles to support the implementation committee overseeing the establishment and take-off of the proposed Polytechnic in Gaya LGA.
The health sector received ₦867,645,905.87 for strategic primary healthcare and immunization improvements.
The sum of ₦344,731,419.00 was for Routine Immunization Activities (Q4 2025) and ₦522,914,486.87 for renovation, construction, and procurement of medical equipment and furnishings at Malikawa Garu PHC and Malikawa Sarari Health Post in Bichi LGA
The Council has, however, approved ₦153,400,000.00 to sustain power supply for water production and distribution across the state.
Also, a major allocation of ₦39 billion was approved under the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure for the upgrading of roads, bridges, and other public infrastructure.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development secured funding of ₦2,886,894,755.13 for several key projects, including: Establishment of an Emergency Operation Centre at Government House; Construction of the Kano State Chief Judge’s Residence; Renovation of the Protocol Lounge at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA); Construction of three courtrooms, a new office block, and judges’ offices at Audu Bako Secretariat and Review of contract for the Islamiyya School project at Kwankwasiyya City.

The Ministry of Local Government received ₦5,557,757,168.91 for completion of the 5km dualized road and construction of additional access roads in Gaya Town, Gaya LGA while the office of the SSG was allocated ₦150,000,000.00 to settle outstanding liabilities owed to Royal Tropicana Hotel.
Additionally, the sum of ₦385,600,000.00 was approved for the design, development, and migration to an electronic procurement software system (Phase I), to strengthen transparency and accountability in public procurement.
