Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the family of the late elder statesman and business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, have expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for visiting Kano to offer his condolences.
In a statement issued on Friday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf described the President’s visit as a profound act of empathy and statesmanship that brought immense comfort to the grieving family and the people of Kano.
He recalled the President’s prompt response following the news of Dantata’s death, including dispatching a high-level delegation to his burial in Madina, Saudi Arabia, and facilitating diplomatic efforts to ensure a smooth and dignified funeral process.
“The entire process was handled with remarkable dignity and efficiency, thanks to Your Excellency’s support,” Governor Yusuf stated. “Your personal presence here, despite your demanding schedule, is a powerful demonstration of leadership, compassion, and respect.”
Similarly, the eldest son of the deceased, Alhaji Tajudeen Aminu Dantata, commended President Tinubu for standing by the family during their moment of grief.
He also acknowledged the President’s long-standing relationship with the late patriarch, describing it as one built on mutual respect and shared values.
“We are grateful for the President’s unwavering support. We remain committed to upholding the values of humility, service, and generosity our father stood for,” Tajudeen said.
In his remarks during the visit, President Tinubu described the late Dantata as a man of integrity, humility, and selfless service to humanity.
“We have lost a conscience of the nation,” the President said. “May Allah, in His infinite mercy, grant him Aljannah Firdaus.”
The visit comes days after Dantata’s burial in Madina, which was attended by dignitaries from within and outside Nigeria.
