Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated Premier Radio 102.7 FM on its fourth anniversary, describing the station as a professional and people-oriented broadcast organisation contributing to public enlightenment and good governance in the state.
The governor, in a statement issued on Sunday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, praised the station for its commitment to ethical journalism, accuracy and balanced reportage.
Yusuf said Premier Radio had earned public trust by maintaining editorial independence, providing unbiased news coverage and giving room for diverse opinions in its programming.
According to him, the station has played a critical role in promoting peace, unity and informed public discourse, while serving as a credible platform for citizens’ engagement without political, ethnic or sectional bias.
The governor also congratulated the Chairman of the station, Malam Abba Dabo, for what he described as visionary leadership and sustained investment in credible journalism.
He commended Dabo for remaining active in the media sector after retirement, noting that his continued contribution to journalism and mentorship of young professionals was patriotic and exemplary.
Yusuf reaffirmed the state government’s support for media organisations that promote truth, accountability and the public interest, while wishing Premier Radio continued growth, relevance and impact.
