The Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) has conferred the title of Most Pensioner-Friendly Governor of the Year on Kano State Governor,Abba Kabir Yusuf.
This recognition acknowledges the Governor’s exceptional commitment to the welfare of pensioners in the state.
According to the NUP national chairman, Mazi Godwin Ikechuku Abumisi, Governor Yusuf has demonstrated unwavering dedication to the well-being of pensioners, authorizing the disbursement of N11 billion to clear the backlog of pension gratuity payments within a year.
“This achievement is unprecedented in the history of Nigeria’s democracy.”
The state chairmen of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) in Kano expressed their gratitude to the Governor for his commitment to addressing the N43 billion pension liabilities inherited from the previous administration.
In his remark Governor Abba Kabir reaffirmed his dedication to supporting pensioners, ensuring the settlement of their gratuities and timely disbursement of monthly pension allowances.
This recognition highlights Governor Yusuf’s exemplary leadership and commitment to the welfare of pensioners in Kano State.
